Why It Matters

Scherzer is on the 15 day injured list with tendinitis in his forearm. Chase Lee has been called up from Buffalo to replace Scherzer’s spot on the roster. Scherzer’s next striketout with be the 3,500th of his career. Scherzer realistically climb as high as ninth on the MLB’s all time strikeout list before the end of this season.
