Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes has been named as the team candidate for the King Clancy Trophy

Why It Matters

Hughe is the Canucks nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to the community. Hughes has supported the Canucks for Kids fund and launched the initiative Team 43 to give free Canucks tickets to first responders. Hughes is among 32 players one from each team nominated for the award. The player who wins it gets a 25,000 dollar donation to a charity of their choice and a 20,000 dollar grant to organize an activation for a local humanitarian cause.
