Winnipeg Jets centre Mark Scheifele was afforded extra time in the handshake line by his teammates and opponents

Why It Matters

The series end handshake line between the Winnipeg Jets and the Dallas Stars took a little bit longer than normal on Saturday night. After Stars defenseman Thomas Harley scored the overtime winner to send the Stars to the Conference Finals the Stars spent extra time with Scheifele in the handshake line as Scheifele played following the death of his dad that morning. Scheifele happened to have scored the Jets only goal of the 2-1 overtime loss and the Stars to a person took a few extra seconds with Scheifele in the handshake line to offer condolences.
