Why It Matters
The Roberto Clemente Award is the MLB award for humanitarian work off the field which has 30 players up for it one from each existing MLB team. Springer is a spokesman for the stuttering association of the young having grown up with that problem himself and holds an annual bowling benefit in Toronto for SAY and the Jays Care Foundation.
