Why It Matters
Goodell contract as commissioner goes through the 2030 season. Goodell has been the commissioner of the NFL since the late Paul Tagliabue retired in 2006 and this contract is set to expire at the same time as the CBA. The NFL has expanded its international outreach under Goodell and will play a record nine international games this season.
