Darnold had played through an injury to his left oblique in both of the Seahawks playoff wins that got them to the Super Bowl throwing for three touchdown passes in the Seahawks win over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC championship. Darnold has been listed as a limited participant in practice in all available injury reports leading into the Super Bowl. The Seahawks disembarked from the team charter in San Francisco on Sunday evening.
