Why It Matters

San Antonio city council voted down a public vote on the 489 million dollar contribution for a new downtown arena. This means that a public vote will not be included in the midterm ballot. Bexar County voted last November to approve 311 million dollars in county venue tax dollars for the Spurs new arena. The rest of the public funding was to come from the city of San Antonio.
