Marchand has confirmed that he has undergone surgery that will keep him off the ice for quite some time including a charity hockey game in Slovakia organized by former teammate in Boston Zdeno Chara that Marchand had committed to playing in. Marchand had missed the Panthers last 19 games with a lower body injury. Marchand joined the Panthers in a trade with the Boston Bruins at the trade deadline in 2025 and helped the Panthers to their second consecutive stanley cup win.
