The Colorado Avalanche will not have defenseman Cale Makar in game 1 of the conference finals

Why It Matters

Makar will not play in game 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday. Makar is day to day with an undisclosed injury and Jack Ahcan will draw into the lineup in his absence according to Head Coach Jared Bednar. Makar was injured in the series winning game five against the Minnesota Wild. Makar who is a finalist for the Norris Trophy for the best 200 foot playing defenseman has not practiced since the Avalanche advanced to the conference finals. Makar has five points in nine games in the playoffs.
