Why It Matters

The Rams will have Stafford under contract through the 2027 season shortly after drafting alabama quarterback Ty Simpson 13th overall in what is widely seen as drafting Stafford’s succession plan. The Rams won a Super Bowl at home with Stafford in 2021. Stafford’s 39th birthday on February 7 is exactly a week before this coming Super Bowl in Los Angeles. Stafford is playing his 18th year in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.
