Why It Matters
The Chiefs will be leaving Arrowhead Stadium for a domed stadium across state borders in Kansas in 2031. This came after Kansas state legislators voted unanimously for STAR bonds to cover 70% of the cost of the stadium and mixed use district. The bonds will be paid off with state sales and liquor tax revenues. The new stadium will be the Kansas half of Kansas City from the Missouri half and the chiefs will have a new practice facility in the suburb of Olathe Kansas as well.
