Why It Matters

Stafford who missed time during training camp with an aggravated disk in his back is expected to start the season opener on Sunday. Stafford missed almost the first month of training camp but has been a full participant in practice since returning on August 18. The veteran quarterback enters the season 191 yards short of becoming the ninth quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw for 60,000 yards.
