The NHL has named its finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award

Why It Matters

The Ted Lindsay Award is given to the player voted as MVP by the players. The nominees are Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov, Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar. The winner will be announced at a later date. Kucherov lead the NHL with 121 points in 78 games for the Lightning. McKinnon had 116 points for the Avalanche in 79 games. Makar lead all NHL defenseman in points with 92 in 80 games and is a finalist for the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenseman as well.
