The Vancouver Canucks have traded to the Montreal Canadiens for winger Brendan Gallagher
Why It Matters
The Habs will be on the hook for half of Gallagher’s cap hit on the final year of his contract. Gallagher was the longest tenured Habs player having spent the first 14 years of his career in Montreal. Gallagher had 23 points in 77 games last season and had a goal in three playoff games. Gallagher was drafted in the fifth round by the Habs in 2010.
